Terms of Use

1. Who we are and what Verbo Vivo is

Verbo Vivo is a digital service for reading and studying the Bible, provided by Biblia Verbo Vivo, registered in Brazil under CNPJ 65.489.661/0001-78, at Rua Severino Nicolau de Melo, 1100, Jardim Oceania, João Pessoa - PB, CEP 58037-700 ("Verbo Vivo", "we"), at bibliaverbovivo.com.br and its subdomains.

The service brings together the Bible reader, reading plans, the daily streak, "Your Journey", notes and highlights, Bible maps and Bereia, a study assistant powered by artificial intelligence. These Terms apply to all use of the service. By creating an account, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

2. Who can use it

• You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter into a contract. The service is paid, and the subscription is in your name.
• The information you give when signing up must be true and kept up to date.
• Each account is personal and non-transferable. Do not share your password.

3. Account and security

You sign in with email and password or, when available, with Google or Apple. You are responsible for what happens in your account and must tell us at usebibliaverbovivo@gmail.com if you suspect misuse. We may ask you to confirm your email to protect your account.

4. Subscription, trial and payment

Verbo Vivo is paid from day one, with a trial before the first charge:

• 3-day trial: you add your card when you subscribe and use everything for 3 days without paying (R$ 0.00 today). The trial is available only once per account.
• After the trial: unless you cancel, the subscription starts on the plan you chose and the first charge is made to the card on file.
• Monthly plan: R$ 10.90 per month, renewed automatically every month.
• Yearly plan: R$ 118.80 per year (the same as R$ 9.90 per month), charged in a single payment and renewed automatically every year.
• Outside Brazil, prices may be charged in US dollars (USD), at the amount shown before you confirm.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number.
• You always see the amount, the plan and the date of the first charge before you confirm.

If a charge fails, Stripe retries for a few days and your access continues while it does. If the payment is not settled, the subscription ends and access to the app is suspended.

We may change our prices. A new price only applies from the next renewal and will be announced by email at least 30 days in advance. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the renewal.

5. Cancelling, guarantee and refunds

• Cancel any time. In Settings → Subscription, the "Cancel subscription" button prepares an email to usebibliaverbovivo@gmail.com. We confirm the cancellation by replying to that email.
• Cancelled during the trial? You keep using the app until the 3 days end and are never charged. To come back later, just subscribe again, paying at once, with no new trial.
• Cancelled after the trial? The subscription is not renewed and you keep access until the end of the period already paid. There is no fee and no minimum term.
• 7-day guarantee: if you ask to cancel within 7 days of the first charge, we refund that charge in full and access ends. This period also meets the right of withdrawal in Brazil's Consumer Protection Code (Código de Defesa do Consumidor, art. 49).
• Outside the guarantee, there are no pro-rata refunds for periods already started, unless the law requires them.
• Refunds go back to the same payment method, within your card issuer's timeframe.

6. Bereia and the use of artificial intelligence

Bereia is a study assistant that uses artificial intelligence to answer questions from the Bible text, showing the references it used. By using it, you understand that:

• answers are generated automatically and may contain mistakes. Always check the references in the Bible text;
• Bereia is a study tool. It is not God, Jesus, a pastor or a biblical character, it does not speak for any church or tradition, and it does not replace reading the Bible or the care of your faith community;
• it does not give medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. If your life or someone else's is at risk, seek help right away: in Brazil, CVV answers at 188, 24 hours a day; elsewhere, contact your local emergency or crisis line;
• your questions are processed by an AI provider, as explained in the Privacy Policy. Do not send sensitive data about yourself or others that the question does not need;
• we may limit the number of questions per period to keep the service stable.

7. Acceptable use

When using Verbo Vivo, you agree not to:

• break the law or the rights of others;
• try to access accounts, data or systems without permission, or get around limits, payments or security measures;
• copy the service in bulk, use bots to scrape content or resell access;
• use Bereia to produce hateful, harassing, violent or fraudulent content, or content that disrespects other people's faith;
• send malicious code or overload the service.

If this happens, we may suspend or close the account, telling you and explaining why whenever the law allows.

8. Your notes, highlights and conversations

What you write (notes, highlights, custom plans and questions to Bereia) remains yours. You allow us to store and process this content only to provide the service to you. It is private, is not shown to other people and is not used to train artificial intelligence models.

9. Intellectual property and third-party content

The Verbo Vivo name, symbol, design, code and the service's own texts belong to us. These Terms do not transfer any of those rights to you.

The Bible texts and the map data come from third parties, under their own licenses. The Nova Versão de Acesso Livre (NVA), for example, is published under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. The full list of sources, authors and licenses is in Credits and licenses.

10. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Verbo Vivo available, but there may be interruptions for maintenance or because of third-party failures (hosting, payments or AI). We may improve, change or remove features. Features marked "Coming soon" are not yet part of the subscription. If a change removes something essential from what you signed up for, you can cancel and ask for a pro-rata refund of the unused period.

11. Liability

We are liable for the damage we cause, under Brazil's Consumer Protection Code. We are not liable for decisions made solely on Bereia's answers without checking the Bible text, nor for failures caused by you, by third parties beyond our control, or by unforeseeable events and force majeure. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.

12. Closing your account

You can ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to usebibliaverbovivo@gmail.com. Deletion ends the subscription and erases your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may also close the account in the cases in section 7 or when the law requires it.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The date and version are at the top of the page, and earlier versions are listed in the history below. If a change is significant, we tell you by email or in the app and ask you to accept it again before you continue. If you do not agree, you can cancel the subscription.

14. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Any dispute will be settled in the courts of your place of residence. Before taking any action, talk to us: most issues are solved by email.
